Today is…MOVE YOUR MONEY DAY!
Are you a fan of It's a Wonderful Life? Interested in how this classic Christmas movie is inspiring social justice movements nowadays?
Watch a great, 6-minute clip explaining what the day is all about, courtesy of Nation of Change.
This is a short post because it is serving as a forum for people to share their views on whether or not they are going to be moving their money out of big, corporate banks and into small locally-owned banks and credit unions.

I made a video protest recently for my blog. It is quite funny even if you are pro-megabank. I called my credit card's customer service line to do some negotiating. Having a bit of leverage, I thought it presented a great opportunity to mess with them a little and make a few points about the unfairness of the credit card lending system. Since it's a protest at home, I called it my kitchen counterstrike against Bank of America. I think you might enjoy it. http://www.ragingwisdom.com/?p=508
No, actually there are major differences between credit unions and banks which don't have to do with size at all.
You know what happens when a lot of people move their money into a small local bank? They become a big corporate bank! Cheers!
