Social Justice Opportunities on Campus…Deadlines Approaching

Last Student Union e-mail we will directly copy and paste for a while, hopefully.

The Student Union just keeps telling us about such good  opportunities that I feel bad not re-promoting them in the name of social justice, though…

3. Student Union Office of Communications!

The Student Union is now accepting applications to the Office of Communications in order to forward our mission of staying connected and being an active resource to students.

We want to create transparency, innovate new mediums of communication, and inform students on all the different ways they can get involved at Brandeis. That’s why we have our Student Union website, which we’d like to update frequently with blogs, events, and announcements. Also, for all you who like your social media, we have our Brandeis Student Union page on Facebook that you can ‘Like,’ and our ‘BDeisUnion’ Twitter that you can follow. Last but not least, we have our Student Union monthly newsletter, which serves as our medium for shining the spotlight on club and Union efforts.

This is a huge undertaking for communications alone, and we can’t do it without your help.

The Office of Communications will consist of the Student Union Co-Directors of Communications, (3) writers, a social media coordinator and a website administrator. Writers will be responsible for writing weekly blogs and writing stories for the Union newsletter. We need dedicated writers who are willing to devote time to pen stories highlighting all the exciting things that are going on on campus. The social media coordinator will be responsible for generating consistent Tweets, status updates, and other content for our social media accounts. Applicants should be creative, writing savvy, and familiar with managing web content (preferably).

We hope you will consider this opportunity to be a part of the Student Union. To apply, please fill out the application here: <https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aohy6mg_GDSGdEJKOU91MTV6cFBvbU1MTmtVNWlUREE>

Applications are due by Wednesday, November 9th and you will be contacted to schedule an interview time for Sunday, November 13th. If this date is inconvenient, please e-mail Andrea Ortega or Anthony Nguyen, and we can arrange a separate interview time.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Andrea Ortega at aortega@brandeis.edu or Anthony Nguyen at anguyen@brandeis.edu.
